In 1996, The Who got back together for Quadrophenia. They redid it! They smartly
figured out how to mix dialogue with the music. Phil Daniels, who played Jimmy in
the movie Quadrophenia, joined them for part of this tour. Hyde Park has David
Gilmour doing a song! The one next to it, from Madison Square Garden, is the best
show from this tour and should've been released.
In 2002, Pete was quoted as saying that The Who "went on tour 3 years ago to pay
for John's shopaholic problem!" Maybe so, but the late-1999 shows kickass. They
played so well that they ended up getting back together to constantly tour.
